Style Sleek Hair + Banish Frizz

sleek hair

Getting straight and sleek hair seems like it should be a breeze (and actually it really is quite simple) but going into the look armed with only a straightener leads to split ends, frizz and heat damage. Lucky for all of us, the steps and products it takes to get straight, frizz-free hair are minimal, and the end result of the look is oh-so chic. Here’s how to get sleek, straight hair.

1. Pre-Styling Treatment

Post-shower and pre-blowout, apply a protective pre-styling treatment and work it through damp hair. This will help prevent breakage and frizz from forming while you blow-dry your hair.  Christophe Robin Hydrant Santal is perfect for giving extra moisture and healing to damaged strands.

2. Blow Dry + Brush

Blow dry your hair in a downward motion using a boar bristle brush to smooth strands from root to tip. The Moroccan Oil Boar Bristle Classic Brush is the perfect tool to keep your style looking sleek and tangle-free.

3. Heat Protectant

Immediately before using your hair straightener, apply a heat protectant to dry hair. Focus especially on the ends of hair for extra protection against breakage. We love Moroccanoil Treatment or Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer for smoothing and adding thermal protection.

4. Straighten Your Hair

Run a straightener through 2-3 inch sections of hair. Tame any temperamental ends by spraying Oribe's Free Styler Working Hair Spray and running the straightener through once more to flatten them out.

5. Mist & Go

Lightly Mist with R+Co Outer Space Hairspray to lock in your pin straight style.
