Manager of Operations, Proprietary Brands

Location: Georgetown, Washington, D.C


Bluemercury is experiencing significant growth with its proprietary brands business and intends to expand its product lines. We are seeking a Manager of Operations to join our dynamic, fast-paced team in Washington D.C. In this role, you will be owning the operations of the product development process, managing purchasing, supporting product launches and growing supplier relationships for our proprietary brands. The ideal candidate will have program management experience in cosmetic manufacturing, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a deep understanding of the product development process. Passion in beauty is a must.

  • Own the product development process for key milestones across all new product development projects and work with cross-functional partners to deliver goods on-time, on-budget

  • Manage purchasing, inventory and replenishment

  • Present analysis and insights to CEO related to new product development projects

  • Define and implement process improvements

  • Identify new tools and processes to help scale the business

  • Mange supplier relationships

  • Analyze business performance, identify trends and make data-driven recommendations

  • Conduct competitive analysis

  • Evaluate cost of goods and retail pricing

  • Manage and analyze expenses

  • Identify areas for cost savings  

  • Manage bill of materials

  • Support new store openings 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong project management skills
  • 3-4 years’ experience in cosmetic manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent problem solving ability and high sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Collaborative working style
  • Strategic and creative problem solver; passionate about beauty
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • Ability to work within tight deadlines that involves many products in development simultaneously
