Wellness Tip #1
Walk the Walk
I start and end most days with a walk with my husband, Barry. We’re walking addicts! In the morning, we’ll do four miles on a trail near our house. Then every night around 10 o’clock, we go for a two-mile stroll. It’s a way to catch up on the day and get some fresh air before we get in bed. If I go to sleep without doing it, I feel as though something is missing. Walking clears your head and is just a great way to decompress. For the first half-mile, we talk business, then the conversation turns to broader discussions, like the kids and bouncing ideas off of each other. It’s a tradition we began when we started Bluemercury, and we’ve kept it up for more than 19 years!

Break a Sweat
I also like to do high-intensity interval training on the treadmill. My usual routine is 18 60- to 120-second intervals on different inclines, recovering in between. It’s intense, but it also clears my head and gets me ready to start the day. The Kosas Chemistry AHA Serum Deodorant is good for workouts—clean ingredients!

Make Skincare Self-care
I think the time we spend getting ready in the am can be an opportunity to look after ourselves, even if it’s only doing a quick facial massage when applying moisturizer. Speaking of which, M-61 Vitablast C® 20% Cream is my “must do” every morning, no matter what. It keeps my skin hydrated, while the vitamin C protects against environmental aggressors and improves signs of aging. For busy women, having a product that does it all is key. If I have a few extra minutes, taking the time to use a facial roller, such as our exclusive Jenny Patinkin Rose on Rose Pop and Roll, is an indulgent pause for me. Not only does facial rolling reduce puffiness, it feels amazing and is a relaxing moment before starting a hectic day.

Wellness Tip #4
Take a Minute for Mindfulness
In the morning, I try to carve out five minutes after the kids have gone to school, before I dive into work, to read and reflect. I have Telushkin’s Book of Jewish Values: A Day-by-Day Guide to Ethical Living on all my devices. It contains a lesson for every day of the year. I truly believe that if you spend a few minutes a day digesting a piece of wisdom, you’ll be calmer, wiser and more grounded.
Wellness Tip #5
Power Your Diet With Plants
I follow a vegan diet and so do my two daughters. I’m always looking for a high-quality, plant-based protein powder, and one I’ve found that I really like is the WellCo Nourishing Plant Protein in Chocolate. Another thing I keep on hand is a supply of my Detox Glow Soup in the fridge. Not only is it nourishing and easy to prepare, it also makes your skin look amazing. I throw a carton of Imagine No Chicken vegetarian broth in a pot with 2 tablespoons of fresh ginger and 2 to 3 cups of chopped carrots. Let this boil for about 5 minutes, then toss in 1/2 to 3/4 of a bag of spinach and/or kale. Sometimes, I add garlic, cumin and cayenne for more flavor; sometimes, I don't. You can purée it, if you prefer a smoother texture. It’s great either way!

Wellness Tip #6
Focus on Internal Affairs
Multitasking is a way of life for me. Two examples: I look for makeup products that do double duty by containing skincare ingredients, and I make sure my water is providing benefits beyond simple hydration by mixing it with supplements. To keep my immune system strong, I reach for The Nue Co Defense Drops. And to plug any gaps in my daily vitamin intake, I pop an 8Greens tablet in my water bottle.

Wellness Tip #8
Schedule Tea Time
In the evenings, I like to have a cup of tea and read. That’s how I learn and also how I relax. A 2013 study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that tea could improve a person’s overall well-being and concluded that those who drink tea could see improvements in mood, concentration and performance. I love peppermint tea during the day as an energy boost and teas made with gotu kola and shankhpushpi (Ayurvedic herbs that promote concentration and reduce anxiety) in the evening. If it’s been a particularly busy day, I might light our Lafco Bluemercury Spa Classic Candle. Its aromatherapy blend also helps me wind down.
Wellness Tip #7
Embrace Helping Hands
Hand sanitizer has become as indispensable to me as my mobile phone. I keep a bottle in all of my bags and jacket pockets, so I’m never without it. Chantecaille’s Rose Geranium and Basil version is one of my favorites.

Get Your Zzzs
Quality sleep is really important to me for making sure that I’m feeling good and am productive all day long. Studies have shown that disturbed sleep accelerates the aging process and weakens the immune system. Therefore, restful sleep is vital, as it helps your body and mind recharge and rejuvenate. To assist me in getting a full night of shuteye, I take Dr. Barbara Sturm Sleep Food before bed. It’s a vegan compilation of sleep-supporting compounds that will help you fall asleep faster and sleep deeper.
