Senior Manager of Digital Design & UX

Position Summary:

Bluemercury seeks a Senior Digital Designer to join the Creative Services team, whose mission is to bring to life business-driving endeavors for cross-functional internal teams including Store Marketing, Digital Marketing and Store Operations. You will develop innovative and creative solutions for campaigns to translate the high touch luxury Bluemercury experience across channels, work with cross functional teams and junior designers, delegate and provide guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create digital-first concepts for content-driven omni channel campaigns

  • Lead site design and optimization utilizing UX/CX best practices for a seamless, best-in-class customer experience

  • End-to-end creative concepting including mood boards, prototyping/wireframes, translation and build with development partners

  • Act as mentor to junior design team members, contribute to process improvement initiatives across the creative team

  • Provide guidance and leadership on site creative improvements

  • Serve as an internal UX/Creative SME with the ability to effectively communicate design and user experience principles across the organization

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, CX/UX, Information Architecture or Communications Design with a digital focus

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in digital design (experience in beauty/ecommerce industry a plus)

  • Ability to design with a mobile-first mentality

  • Working knowledge of front-end development/coding

  • Experience with wireframes/prototyping

  • Understanding of message hierarchy by channel

  • In-depth, comprehensive design capabilities across the Adobe Creative Suite

    • HTML, CSS and responsive design skills desired

    • A thorough understanding of HTML, CSS and responsive design at a minimum

  • Experience managing multiple complex projects and priorities simultaneously

    • Ability to self-manage and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong presentation skills with ability to articulate creative vision

  • Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills

  • Strong creative collaboration that encourages sharing and exploration of ideas
