What’s your current beauty obsession?

I’m a fan of everything from Alpyn Beauty. The founder, Kendra Kolb Butler, is a friend, and I love that she’s created a skincare line made with clean, natural ingredients that I feel comfortable using on my daughter when we play pretend spa. (And that I use on myself regularly!) Plus, it actually works! I find it rare that all-natural beauty lines are also effective. But after one use, you really do see a difference. Alpyn Beauty has made my skin a lot softer and dewier, and my makeup goes on much better.

Where do you find beauty?

I find beauty in things that might be a little bit different, a little bit outside the realm of what others consider beautiful. Maybe it’s an irregularity in a stone, or some sort of weird quirk that a person has. I find those qualities beautiful.

What’s one of your beauty essentials?
I love hair oils and always keep one in my purse. On a typical day, I might be going from one meeting to some sort of photo shoot to another meeting. I want to make sure that my hair is looking okay through all of that. Touching up the ends with a little bit of oil ensures a more polished look overall.
What item can you never get enough of?
I like Diptyque fragrances because not everyone is wearing them. They’re a bit unusual.
What has the past year taught you?
That sometimes it’s good to get off the hamster wheel of life and reevaluate everything to its core and see if you’re living life the way you really want to live. Just making sure that you’re on the path you want to be on. Are you doing the things that make you happy? Are you meeting friends that you want to be with? Are you making sure that the people around you are supportive and loving and caring and really enjoy your company? Usually we’re not given that kind of time to be able to stop and be still, especially in New York.
