Story:
A Night of Wax and Gold Once upon a time... there was “A Night of Wax and Gold”, a holiday tale by Diptyque. This year, Diptyque celebrates the season with an invitation to lose yourself in an enchanted story set in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Spirited, wondrous, all aglow with imagination.
The trio of artists behind this creation echo Diptyque's three founders: Contemporary poet Victor Pouchet created the winter tale, illustrated with surrealism and humor by Parisian illustrator and bookseller Vincent Puente. Inès Mélia, a boldly imaginative artist, works with shapes and materials to infuse a narrative dimension into poetic objets d'art that transform the narrative into tangible form.
Set in a bookshop in Saint-Germain-des-Prés a few days before Christmas, the tale follows the shopkeeper and his mischievous, highly literate cat, Archibald. The pair discover a peculiar power of attraction in a small pine cone dipped in the shimmering wax of a scented candle. As the pages turn, the alchemy of the holidays unfolds...
This year, the icons of winter escape from a fairy tale, adorned with surreal designs and golden motifs. Their boxes and wrapping papers become the precious pages of the tale, infused with poetry and light. This fairy tale is a celebration of enchantment, where every detail heightens the magic of the holidays.

How To Use
- The carousel is designed to be used with a classic candle.
- Once the candle is lit, carefully position the carousel on its stand.
- In the heat from the flame, the accessory will start to rotate.
- Since different candles generate different levels of heat, the speed of rotation may vary (from slight rotation to rapid).
- When removing, extinguish the candle and give the object a little time to cool down.
- Avoid touching the top of the carousel as this is where the heat will be at its most concentrated.
- Keep candles and their accessories out of the reach of children and pets, and away from curtains and other flammable materials.
- The first time the candle is lit, allow it to burn for 2 or 3 hours until all the wax has become liquid on the surface to prevent tunnelling. Doing so will allow the wicks to properly soak up the wax and burn more evenly.
- Wicks may produce a small amount of smoke when first lit.
- After each use, trim the wick (ideal length: a quarter inch) to avoid unnecessary smoke.
- When extinguishing the wick, check that it is straight and centered.
- Discontinue use when only 0.19 inches of wax remains.
- We recommend using a snuffer to put out the flame and avoid hot wax splashes.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Never place a burning candle in an area with a draft.
- Never place a burning candle directly on delicate surfaces (glass, wood, and marble…). Instead, place it on a heat-resistant surface or on a dedicated stand.
- Never move a burning or hot candle.
- We recommend airing a room after burning a candle.
