Oud wood is one of the rarest and oldest essences in perfumery. It is the central focus of Oud Palao, which owes its name to the palao variety from Laos. East meets West in this interlacing and intermingling of oud wood, vanilla and rose. Oud wood owes its intense fragrance to the rich resin produced by the Aquilaria Crassna tree in response to an exterior attack from fungus or a parasite.
